Is Martin KIngston QC aware that the "the advice of the Government agency" he thinks should be accepted with regard to health impact of Sinfin waste plant is worthless?

"Egg-on-face" is something all barristers need to avoid as it makes them seem less wonderful than they like to think.

The "egg" is on Hansard website (30 November 2009, Column 539W) and is the written reply to Parliamentary Question by Paul Holmes MP in which Dept of Health admit no studies around incinerators and ends with Health Protection Agency advising that no such studies are carried out:

http://www.parliament.the-stationery-office.co.uk/pa/cm200910/cmhansrd/cm091130/text/91130w0038.htm

Perhaps Martin Kingston QC will be able to tell the public inquiry how anyone can tell whether or not existing "energy from waste plants" are causing any adverse effects on the health of residents?

I suggest that he gets RRS to examine infant mortality rates at electoral ward level around incinerators, power stations and oil refineries in England & Wales as the wards with high death rates "just happen to be" where exposure to emissions from such installations are greatest.

The Health Protection Agency's CEO has admitted no relevant health studies around incinerators in this letter to me:

What is happening with the bookings that the Sinfin Social Club already has???
I have a party booked here on 3 April, and that date is moving steadily forward. Every time I phone the Club, they tell me to phone back in three days, but unfortunately we are getting nearer to my party date.

Have I got a venue?????

my spelling must improve
i have done a mega amount of work to try and protect myself from possible injury in derby by virue of burning waste
it has been a hard road like facing some darkness or the unknown that is a danger but hidden
i sense a lot is hidden to uncover it is essential but scary
i have submitted some objections but as of today i still have a lot more material i want to submit to council to make sure it is taken into account and like i say make sure i do my best to protect what is precious to me
i sent stuff to sheffield for environment agence hearing too
anyone think the same as me about this id love to hear from you by e mail

I live on sinfin lane, the traffic is bad enough already, day and night. Didn't move to the area to live next door to a waste plant and die early in life due to pollution (If this does get the go ahead, dig my grave now!!!)
The Council forgets that we voted them in to look after us and that we will vote them out again if they don't! They need to remember who voted for them and that they are answerable to us. So DCC stop being selfish and thinking about yourselves all the time, put this plant somewhere where it won't be harmful to the local community(and so close)

Ok So we Know its a bad for the area in terms of health of the residents and their children (I am one BTW), and it will pollute the air and ground, encourage vermin, flies and produce a smell. and will have an impact on house prices. Then there is the (claimed!) 10% increase in traffic. 10% of what! 10% of 100 is only 10 but 10% of 1000 is 100!! they should be more precise. Values such as traffic, volume / type per hour / time of day. would be more meaningful.

we all know Sinfin is "out of sight out of mind" as far as the bunch of social misfits in the Council house will have it, and they will try to ride rough shod over us and ignore our voices.

So what about the business in the area, do they have a take on this ?.

We have sainsburys / KFC / Mc.D's / milk depot, oast house, and Pizza hut. All food retailers and all within striking distance of vermin and flies. Then there’s B+Q a bowling ally, reckitt’s and RR and others, we need them to speak up too.

Any thought into how we are going to transmit / benefit from the "free" electricity generated ?

Pylons in back yards, not for me please, reduction in electricity bill as we are now a net exporter of power to the grid, I cant see it my self!!

Rant over !!
