Master Planning

Your Neighbourhood Board has agreed that Councillor Robin Turner and Chad should serve on the Project Board for the Master Planning of the Redevelopment of the Osmaston Area.
Robin is determined to ensure that the future for the area shall be decided on by residents and not by people who do not live in the area however well qualified they may be.
It will be for you to decide on the population density, the type of layout of gardens and living space and what services you want. History has shown us in other cities that officials can get this sort of thing badly wrong. It is literally a once in a century chance to get it right.

Moorways Stadium

Baggy Shanker recently attended a meeting at Moorways and was disgusted to learn of the lack of investment in the facilities at Moorways and particularly the athletics track. We will be pushing the council to ensure that the service and facilities at Moorways are maintained and improved so that local residents can enjoy them fully.
The Sinfin Neighbourhood Board are all pushing for local youngsters to be offered reduced rate admission fees to these facilities to keep them active and away from trouble including anti social behaviour.

Recycle Bins – the Circle

The Circle, a cul-de-sac off Wordsworth Avenue, now has the full service of waste collection including recycling facilities as result of quick action by Labour Councillors Robin Turner and Baggy Shanker. For a long time the quality of service had become reduced because of difficulties of access but Robin and Baggy’s requests and suggestions to the Environmental Services Section have now resulted in the delivery of a good service to residents of The Circle.
